The Island of Othoni

The island of Othoni (known as Fanò to Italians) is the largest of the seven islands that make up the Diapontia archipelago, northwest of Corfu in the northern Ionian Sea. Of these islands, only Othonì, Matraki, and Ericussa (Merlera) are inhabited.
It lies 11.5 nautical miles from the northwestern coast of Corfu, 43 miles from Cape Otranto, and 48 miles from Santa Maria di Leuca—just a short distance from the Albanian coastline.

How to Reach Us

From Salento by Private Boat
From Salento, traveling by private boat is very fast: seven to eight hours by sailboat, or two to three hours by motorboat. With public transport, the trip is much longer and more complicated—but this difficulty is precisely what keeps the island protected from mass tourism.
By Plane
In summer, you can often find good flight deals if you are willing to make one or more stopovers and spend a night in Corfu. Flight arrival times usually do not allow travelers to catch the daily ferry to Othoni. However, with a phone call, it is easy to arrange a pickup from the small port of Aghios Stefanos — just a moment away.
By Ferry from Italy
The ferry offers the widest range of travel options, although the journey is quite long, especially during periods when ships no longer reach Corfu and instead dock at Igoumenitza. From there, ferries to Corfu depart every hour. In summer, fortunately, there are at least a couple of weekly ferry arrivals directly to Corfu.

From Corfu to Othoni

Once in Corfu, there are two ways to reach the island:

The EVDOKIA ferry
Operated by Kerkira Lines, which carries about twenty vehicles (cars and motorbikes) and 150 passengers. Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket office at the port entrance. If you plan to travel with a car, booking in advance is recommended.
The VAMOS
Which has replaced the long-serving PIGASOS and connects the Diapontia Islands from the small port of Aghios Stefanos.
Bus from Corfu Town to Aghios Stefanos
A GREEN BUS service connects Corfu Town with Aghios Stefanos. The 08:00 departure is scheduled to coincide with the ferry, and the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. For updated routes and schedules, please refer directly to the Green Bus service website.
